Wem gehört die Stadt – Gerechtigkeit zwischen Miete, Klima und Macht.
Wem gehört die Stadt? Klima- gegen Sozialpolitik ist ein Narrativ, dass viel erzählt wird. Besonders in der Wohnpolitik wird hier zu wenig zusammen gedacht. Dabei geht es nur zusammen. Ohne klimapolitischen Maßnahmen gibt es keine Gerechtigkeit in der Wohnpolitik. Soziale Ungerechtigkeit verstärkt sich mit jedem Zehntel Grad Erderwärmung - wenn wir nicht JETZT unsere Städte radikal anders denken und planen wird es kein gerechtes Leben in der Stadt geben. In diesem Workshop soll gezeigt werden, wie sehr Klima- und gerechte Wohnpolitik zusammenhängen und wieso der Bau von neuen Gebäuden niemals die Wohnmarktprobleme lösen wird. Welche Personen profitieren von diesen Neubauten und wieso treiben klimapolitische Maßnahmen oft Gentrifizierung voran - und was kann getan werden, dass dies nicht passiert? Wer zieht die Fäden in der Wohnpolitik in Wien und wieso gibt es trotz starker SPÖ Wahlergebnisse konstant schwierigere Wohnverhältnisse in Wien?

Who owns the city - justice between rent, climate and power.
Who owns the city? Climate versus social policy is a narrative that is told a lot. In housing policy in particular, too little is thought about together. But it can only work together. Without climate policy measures, there is no justice in housing policy. Social injustice increases with every tenth of a degree of global warming - if we do not radically rethink and plan our cities NOW, there will be no just life in the city. This workshop will show how climate and fair housing policies are linked and why the construction of new buildings will never solve the housing market problems. Who benefits from these new buildings and why do climate policies often drive gentrification - and what can be done to prevent this from happening? Who is pulling the strings in housing policy in Vienna and why are housing conditions in Vienna constantly becoming more difficult despite strong election results for the SPÖ?
