Internationales Finanzsystem, Schuldenpolitik und Klimakatastrophen mal einfach geklärt
Das internationale Finanzysystem ist in großen Teilen auch ein Erbe des Kolonialismus und schreibt sich in unseren Nord-Süd Beziehungen fort. Wir besprechen die Dynamiken des internationalen Finanzsystems als historische Kontinuität des Kolonialismus und klären die Zusammenhänge der internationalen Arbeitsteilung und Handelsbeziehungen mit Extraktivismus, Umweltzerstörung, Vertreibung, bewaffneten Konflikten, Krieg bis hin zu Genozid. Wie kann es sein, dass der Globale Norden und imperiale Staaten sich weiterhin massiv die Ressourcen des Globalen Südens aneignen, ohne entsprechende Gegenleistung zu erbringen. Wie ist es möglich, dass viele Länder des globalen Südens bei all der "Entwicklungshilfe" kaum eigene Wirtschaft aufbauen können? Was hat der IWF und die Weltbank damit zu tun? Gemeinsam erschließen wir: was haben wir heute in unserer urbanen, kosmopolitischen Metropole damit zu tun?

International financial system, debt policy and climate catastrophes simply explained
The international financial system is to a large extent also a legacy of colonialism and is perpetuated in our North-South relations. We discuss the dynamics of the international financial system as a historical continuity of colonialism and clarify the connections of the international division of labor and trade relations with extractivism, environmental destruction, displacement, armed conflicts, war and even genocide. How can it be that the Global North and imperial states continue to appropriate the resources of the Global South on a massive scale without providing anything in return? How is it possible that many countries of the Global South can hardly build up their own economies with all the “development aid”? What do the IMF and the World Bank have to do with this? Let's explore together: what do we have to do with this today in our urban, cosmopolitan metropolis?
