Submitting motions to the municipal council – experience with the direct democratic means of submitting an initiative motion

What is an initiative motion and what opportunities and challenges does it present as a means of direct democracy? An initiative motion makes it possible to communicate concerns to the local council. Several initiative motions in Wiener Neustadt and Lichtenwörth called on political decision-makers to take action on soil and climate protection. What impact did these initiatives have and what challenges did they face?
