FAQ – Klimacamp

FAQ

I’m vegan, will there be vegan food?
Yes, we cook vegan food.

How much will the camp cost?
Generally the participation at the camp is free of charge. If you can we would highly appreciate your contribution through donations. A detailed breakdown of our budget will be available at the info tent.

How do I get to camp by public transportation?
You can find all the information on how to get there here.

Can I come to camp for just a few days?
Of course. It’s perfectly possible to stay for individual workshops, individual days, or even the whole week—depending on your preference and availability.

Do I have to register?
No, you can just show up.

I use a wheelchair. Can I still attend the camp?
We are still in the planning and preparation phase for the infrastructure. It will definitely be possible to participate in the camp as a wheelchair user, but not all areas of the camp will be accessible. There are some areas (especially the skate park and the ‘Grube’) that are unfortunately not accessible due to the construction. There will be an accessible restroom and also the kitchen/eating space will be wheelchair accessible. Morover we’ll make sure that there is at least one workshop space that is low-barrier. If you are unsure whether you can attend the camp, please contact us via email or social media and we will try to find a solution together.

I want to stay overnight at camp. Can/do I need to reserve a campsite?
We’re currently working on determining the sleeping arrangements at camp this year. There will probably be space for individual tents. You don’t need to reserve anything. Since the camp is located in right in the city, there will most likely be a ‘bed exchange’ (Bettenbörse), so you can sleep on the couch in some shared apartments in solidarity. But that’s not set yet. As soon as we have more details, you’ll find out here!

What sanitary facilities are available on site?
There are outdoor showers and dry, separate toilets (compost toilets).

What should I pack?
If you’re not staying overnight, we recommend:

  • Sunscreen
  • Mosquito protection

If you’re planning on staying overnight, you should also bring:

  • Tent
  • Sleeping bag (it can get cold at night!)
  • Toothbrush
  • Hygiene products
  • Towel

I don’t speak English/German. Will there be translation for me?
Yes, we offer the opportunity to translate English-language workshops for German speakers and German-language workshops for English speakers. Just let us know at the information tent if you need translation.

I have one or more children. Will there be childcare?
Yes, childcare will be available upon request, which means you must register in advance by email.
If you know a childcare provider or are one yourself, we would highly appreciate if you’d contact us! We are currently still looking for professional childcare.

I registered for the wrong workshop when registering. I actually want to attend a different one! How can I change this?
Registration helps us roughly assess interest and demand. If you registered incorrectly, it’s okay, unless it’s a workshop with an explicit participant limit. In that case, please send us an email.

Didn’t find an answer to your question here?
