Air traffic and its resistance

The corona crisis briefly brought air traffic to the ground. However, the aviation industry still wants to grow. We want to talk about what a Just Transition in the aviation industry can look like. How can it be possible to permanently reduce air traffic in a democratic process and at the same time ensure long-term prospects for employees and affected groups? In addition: What is the next step in Austria's most climate-damaging infrastructure project - the planned 3rd runway at Vienna Airport? What other inspiring examples are there from the movement for less air travel? We will discuss the next steps and give you an insight into the activities of the working group “Aus_Flug” from System Change, not Climate Change! The aim is to convey the concept of fair transitions, specifically in the aviation industry, within the larger framework of the socio-ecological transformation.
