Klimacamp 2023
This year’s Climate Camp will take place from June 4 to 11, 2023 in Lichtenwörth near Wiener Neustadt.
This year, we will illuminate the mobility turnaround from a socio-political, technical, artistic or simply practical perspective. As every year, there will be various formats for exchanging ideas, networking and questioning the prevailing antisocial and climate-damaging structures together: workshops, panel discussions, readings, bicycle tours, hikes, children’s program, and, and, and. We have a program with over 60 workshops, children’s program, bike tours and concerts…
The camp is designed to be family-friendly and childcare can be requested in advance. It will be held on a meadow; sanitary facilities and all three meals will be provided.
So mark the climate camp week in your calendar, pack your tent, and head to Lichtenwörth!
Registration: In order to be able to plan better we kindly ask you to register in advance (especially important if you need childcare, barrier-free access or a translation).

Directions
By bike from Wr. Neustadt main station:
From the train station take the Bahngasse to the Ferdinand-Porsche-Ring, here turn left and then straight ahead to the Warmen Fischa, here turn right and then along the Warmen Fischa (you can cross the Fischa after 1 km and continue on the north side). At the last house cross the bridge again and turn left onto Stampfgasse. Continue on Haderäckerweg through the field and take the first left onto Kapellengasse. Here you can find the route on OSM.
By bus and train:
From Vienna you can get to Wiener Neustadt Hauptbahnhof from Meidling: In Meidling take the Railjet or the REX, the timetable information of the ÖBB is available here.
Alternatively, it is possible to travel from Meidling via the Pottendorfer Linie to the station “Obereggendorf”. From there it is then about 2.5 km, so half an hour to walk. However, the trains run until midnight.
From Wiener Neustadt main station, bus line 8 towards Lichtenwörth departs every 30 minutes Mon-Sat. Get off at the bus stop “Lichtenwörth Hauptplatz”. From there you walk 6 minutes: After a few meters in the same direction as the bus turn right into Karl Strasser-Gasse and at the end of the street turn left into Kappellengasse, after 200 meters the camp is on the right side. The last ride back is around 20:00, you can find the schedule as PDF with the exact times here.
The buses do not run on Sunday and Thursday (public holiday) and after 20:00. At these times you can use the local call cab. However, this must be requested 30 minutes before the planned departure, the bus stops A06 Hauptbahnhof and B44 Lichtenwörth Hauptplatz will be used. More detailed information is available here.
Day guests can borrow a Nextbike at Wiener Neustadt main station (1 € per hour, 15 € per day, ÖAMTC members 7,50 €, NÖ-Card one time 24 h free of charge). A return in Lichtenwörth is unfortunately not possible.
In Wiener Neustadt there are also numerous cab companies. A ride from the main station to Lichtenwörth costs about 15 €. The more people get together, the cheaper it gets. Large-capacity cabs are available for 6 and even 8 passengers.
By car:
We advise against coming by car, as there are no parking facilities on site. If you still want to come by car, please do not park in Kappellengasse. You come to Lichtenwörth via the B17 and Pottendorfer Str./B60. At the traffic circle take the first exit coming from Wiener Neustadt, then follow the road slightly to the right and turn right at the Gemeindeamt.
For carpooling, there’s the Ummadumm app where you can offer and search for rides.
Shuttle service:
In cooperation with the team of Vernunft-statt-Ostumfahrung we can also provide a shuttle service in special cases. If you have a special request that requires such a service, please let us know in advance so that we can find a solution in time! Just contact Christoph +43 664 824 37 61
