Klimacamp goes Stadt f\u00fcr Alle Camp! <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This year\u2019s camp is happening from <\/span>May 24 to June 1, 2025, in St. Marx, Vienna<\/span> \u2014 because St. Marx is under threat! Without any planning office, people have been using the open space of the old slaughterhouse to come together and create places that meet their needs \u2014 spaces that stay flexible and open to everyone, welcoming new people. But now, this unique free space is supposed to be<\/span> handed over to the profit-driven plans of CTS Eventim<\/span> and Wien Holding AG<\/span>. They want <\/span>to build a giant event hall<\/span> here \u2014 going against what local residents want, and without any attempt of participatory, transparent planning. The <\/span>city is paying 153 million euros<\/span> for a hall where the profits will mostly go to CTS Eventim \u2014 a company that already dominates the event scene.<\/span> Half the people in Vienna won\u2019t even be able to afford tickets.<\/span> They\u2019re not building this for the locals \u2014 the audience targeted will not come by tram, but by plane.<\/span><\/p>\n

We\u2019re spending one week shining a spotlight and raising awareness on the sell-out of our city to big corporate interests. We stand in solidarity with the initiative <\/span>St. Marx f\u00fcr Alle!<\/span>, who\u2019ve been standing strong against this madness for a while now, and are trying to support their fight! Together, we\u2019ll create a space for learning, networking, and sharing ideas \u2014 open to everyone from activist groups to curious individuals.<\/span> It\u2019s all about <\/span>pushing for a fairer city<\/span> \u2014 with spaces that <\/span>belong to people, not profits. <\/span>Collectively created spaces without consumerism<\/span>, gentrification and other forms of ecxlusion and displacement.<\/span><\/p>\n
