Der destruktive Zyklus von Abriss und Neubau folgt nicht nur einer fossilen, klimasch\u00e4dlichen Logik, sondern geht im Kontext einer (sp\u00e4t)kapitalistischen Gesellschaft fast immer auch mit Gentrifizierung und Verdr\u00e4ngung einher. In diesem Vortrag wollen wir anstehende Abrissprojekte von besonderer Relevanz f\u00fcr Wien betrachten, aber auch positive Best Practice Beispiele f\u00fcr Bestandserhaltung und Umnutzung.\r\n\r\nAufbauend auf dem Workshop vom letzten Jahr in Lichtenw\u00f6rth zum Thema Allianz f\u00fcr Substanz, welcher sich dem Thema auf einer globaleren und allgemeineren Ebene annahm, wollen wir uns diesmal drei konkrete bevorstehende Abrissprojekte in Wien ansehen und warum diese derma\u00dfen sch\u00e4dlich f\u00fcr die Idee einer \u201eStadt f\u00fcr Alle\u201c sein werden. Wir betrachten jeweils konkrete Alternativnutzungen und \u00fcberlegen, ob und inwiefern die Abrisse eventuell noch verhindert werden k\u00f6nnten.\r\n\r\nWeiters sehen wir uns aktuelle Anti-Abriss-Initiativen in D,A,CH bzw. europaweit an.<br \/>Abschlie\u00dfend widmen wir uns noch dem einen oder anderen positiven Best-Practice-Beispiel von Umnutzung, Bauen mit Bestand, und\/oder adaptive Reuse.<br \/>Interesse am Thema, eine gewisse Unvoreingenommenheit was vermeintlich \"h\u00e4ssliche\" Geb\u00e4ude angeht ist von Vorteil. Eine gewisse Unvoreingenommenheit gegen\u00fcber der Idee von zivilem Ungehorsam als grassroots-urbanistische Strategie (es werden Kulturprojekte wie das EKH oder die Arena, welche aus Besetzungen hervorgegangen sind, in positivem Licht erw\u00e4hnt werden) ist ebenfalls w\u00fcnchenswert.<\/pre>\r\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\r\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">\u2014 VORTRAG DISKUSSION \u2014 <br \/>\ud83c\udfaa Stadt f\u00fcr Alle Camp <br \/>\ud83d\udccd Monday, 26.05. <br \/>\ud83d\udd513PM <br \/>\ud83c\udfa4Allianz f\u00fcr Substanz<\/pre>\r\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\r\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">Preservation as the basis of a city for all<br \/>\r\nA responsible approach to existing (building) substance is the basis of a city for all. The destructive cycle of demolition and new construction not only follows a fossil, climate-damaging logic, but in the context of a (late) capitalist society almost always goes hand in hand with gentrification and displacement. In this presentation, we will look at upcoming demolition projects of particular relevance to Vienna, but also at positive best practice examples of preservation and conversion.<\/pre>\r\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\r\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">Building on last year's workshop in Lichtenw\u00f6rth on the Alliance for Substance, which addressed the issue on a more global and general level, this time we will look at three specific upcoming demolition projects in Vienna and why they will be so detrimental to the idea of a \u201cCity for All\u201d. In each case, we will look at concrete alternative uses and consider whether and to what extent the demolitions could possibly still be prevented.<\/pre>\r\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">We will also take a look at current anti-demolition initiatives in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and throughout Europe.<br \/>Finally, we will look at one or two positive best-practice examples of conversion, building with existing buildings and\/or adaptive reuse.<br \/>An interest in the topic and a certain impartiality when it comes to supposedly \u201cugly\u201d buildings is an advantage.
